Monocle

Dandy are big fans of Monocle, the stylish periodical offering a ‘global briefing’ of international affairs, business, design and culture. Think one part Economist, one part Wallpaper*.
Great photography, fascinating features and beautifully designed, Monocle is thoroughly contemporary but retains a real love for all things print. It’s nourishing food for thought if you’re thinking of launching your own internal or consumer magazine.
Now’s a good time to check it out if you haven’t already. It’s recently launched a free podcast, The Monocle Weekly, covering a diverse array of topics. This week, the team explored how small independent retailers can revitalise towns and a sense of community, interviewed Lord Mandleson, analysed the simple design beauty of the Liebling newspaper, and spoke to the owner of J Crew, whose clothes were worn by Michelle Obama at the inauguration. Great stuff.
