Innocent have been one of the great British business success stories of the past few years and they’re a brand we love. One of the main reasons for their success is that great design and language is absolutely central to everything they do. And so is a creative approach to marketing. I nipped into my local Co-op (which has nice new branding, but that’s for another blog) last night and came across this Innocent fridge covered in grass. I took the photo on my mobile so apologies if it’s not great quality.
Innocent completely re-invented how to market to this sector and has started to dominate the opposition as a result. Unfortunately rather than try and come up with something equally new and exciting to compete they all seem to be trying to grab Innocents clothes, very unadventerous.
