Brain power

Coming up with ideas for a living can be hard. I know when I’m chatting with friends they just think I sit around doodling all day, but the reality is that every day I’m asking my brain to come up with new ideas, that can be pretty demanding. And the worst thing is, often the harder you try to force an idea out, the harder it gets and the bigger the blank piece of paper in front of you appears. Sometimes it’s best to just switch of and let the brain do it’s work, while I do other things.

No really, it’s a proven method… think about it, forget about it…then ping! Something will pop into your head - usually when you least expect it, hence my little book above. It stays with me everywhere, it even sits beside my bed, and when I suddenly get a moment of inspiration (usually in the middle of the night) I reach for my trusty book and scribble down my thoughts - the ideas shown above don’t look like much (they were drawn in the dark!) but they represent a little spark of inspiration, a reminder for me, and a launch-pad for a lovely idea.

That brain sure is a clever beast.
