Award-winning responsibility from the Co-op

Shopping is different these days. It’s not just about what you want, or need, it’s about the impact that has on people and places around the world. It sometimes feels like there’s a lot hanging in the balance when you’re dithering over which is the most ethical product on the shelf, and the convenience of a supermarket usually comes with a hefty chunk of guilt chucked in. Thank goodness then for Co-op, who on top of their biodegradable plastic bags, Fairtrade options and BUAV-approved toiletries, are tackling climate change with wind farms, solar panels and naked cucumbers. Have a listen to their Environment Manager, Chris Shearlock, speaking on The Guardian website – it’s inspiring stuff.
